Yea its Monday n im at HL. shelise opened up n there were only five people here when i showed up besides myself. Well when i got here shelise was editing a video as usual and everyone was on the computer either writing a blog or do whatever. Besides writing this blog i also helped picked out stories to be posted on the HL web site. That was actually interested to see some of the stories written by people who weren't on my team. It made me see why my team won because some of the other teams stories were kind of BORING. No need to bash anyone but that's just my personal opinion. that's all i have to say so BTYL (Blog To You Later)...lol

WHat A DAY...?!!

Yes it is JAquana...from SHuffle Aliiance----the WINNING TEAM!!!......Today was a boring day. I stayed At HL all Day...from 2pm-9pm bored, waiting for the rest of HL to return from Six FLAGS. There were some good things that I enjoyed over the summer...One is that I got a chance to meet new people. Two is that I learned new things, such as computer programs and I was given the opportunity to further my writing. Last but not least I was given the opportunity to express myself ....in my own way......

Wow its finally over its done. Shuffle Aliance has one the competition. I heard that we lost because of a damn refrigerator and a damn video that wasn't edited because of Tnisha going to Florida and Curtis having to attened a funeral in Virginia. But its all good because i promise to every thing in my life that i am going to work the hardest next summer and win the future competition. If I were to know all that there is towards the end of the competition, and what the prizes would have been, i would have probably worked taken this competion more seriously, but to be honest Suflle Aliance may have one the battle, but they did not win the war!!!!!

The Summer Media Program is Over

yesterday was the award cermony. It was so nice it was held at ABC studios downtown. The cermony startede at seven o clock but we had to arrive earlier to get ready. I came a little late because i took the bus. threw the whole night I was wondering who was going to what and who was gonna get what. That night i was looking so hot. I wore a black dress with back heels with rhinstons onthe side. I thought everyone looked so nice even Kamal. I was so surprised. During the award cermony some of the videos didn't want to work but it was still nice. For presentation Annoymous won but Shuffle won the challege for fixing up HL. We also won the Summer Media Challege. Each team member got money and will be able to pick anothert prize. At the end of the summer but theres always next summer

Wat It Do!!

Errybody Wat It do!! Im happy to report that shuffle alliance won the competition and took home the gold. I got my chip, and im even happier about that. But We chillin, I gott give it up to everybody for their performance on the competition cuz we all did our thing. I love the comradery again, like I said in my speech last night. I hope that the audience enjoyed the presentation last night because we all did our best to do a good job. Ima keep it short and sweet and say that I enjoyed the whole experience. And I hope to keep everybody here, and chillin, and lets keep it movin'.

Whats up every one, Im oscar most of you know me, Im an alumni at Hl ha ha ha.
Anyways im am making a new archives page for the video team since THERE IS NONE. Well i think i am making two one is classic HL blue the other grean and black. I am not sure which one is better. I think they are both good, I was on the video team when i started but i drifted into web design thats why i am making a new video page. LOL well im out to college in a few weeks hope all stays great and gets better.

When all is said and done . . .

WOW! This has been a goooooood summer. Even though my team..TEAM JOC lost im still proud of them I mean I dont know if anyone knows jus how hard we had ot this summer, but Team Joc had a good run. I happy because i met so many new people esp. people on my team. Tiana and Tanisha are damn near sisters to me and Stevie is a sweetheart. Aleah was fun to bother 2! But i getting to know every1 in HL this summer was the best and being that I joined in July i feel really comfortable here. It's weird not postin on my teams blog but its ok. My team could have won last nite 2, but im looking forward to the challenge next summer.

Hardwork pays off.I never thought that was ever true until last night.I'm so happy that my team won because we really deserved it.We worked the hardest out of all the teams.Im happy for myself too because I was the star of the show and I won the most prizes.YAY.This is my first challenge and I won!!Im taking it all next year and there's nothing stopping me!

Tariks harlemlive experience

As harlemlive is winding down I am winding up. My friends commonly call me luck because I always seem to be at places at the right time but I guess is an exception. My experience at harlemlive has been a mixed one because everytime I was able to come in it always seemed like the wrong time for a new comer. From what ive observed harlemlive is an interesting intricate office of upcoming news group. Although it is a little hard to jump into it still has a friendly environment. Even the few awkward moments that I was here I was able to learn things. Harlemlive was a good way to spend my summer even though I always seemed to be there at the wrong moment ;)

Well i guess i can offfically say that the SYMC is OVER. Dont get me wrong im not excited but now its time to celebrate all of our achievements so yea i am. I just want to take thie time out to congradulate all of those who will win awards tonight such as best video, best story, etc. And to all those that dont win an award i just want to say good job and just work a little harder next summer and you just might win. Last but not least to the winning team thanx for your hard work.

Wow this the last day for the Media Challenge. I feel excited on knowing who is going to win this year. It better be me! I think that shuffle alliance put up a good fight from the beginning to the end. I feel i contributed all i could to make my team win. But Rich told me something that made me feel that we are all winners. Rich says that there will be prices for all teams. Still I want to win, I want to rub it in on Rhonesha and Tyrell's faces when i win this competition. This competition determines who worked the hardest and who was hungry for the grand price at the end.

Today is a hectic day. First the server is down on all places. The internet started working but the server needs to be fixed soon. Also i wanted to post somethings up but i cannot because of the freaking server!!! Ohh well you know life can bring many challenges you just have to find a way to overcome them.

We lose again? Damn man, im gettin tired of losin points, presentations, its gettin out of hand now. we cant afford to lose any more! I cant take it. It look like we aint win the presentation at Columbia, and i really feel like we coulda had that one man. It's messed up. how much closer can we get before we actually capture our goal. we had our lead, but then we lose 500 points for not making one more log on our blogsite. why? i understand we gotta put two, but thats messed up. from no on to tomorrow, we cant afford to miss no more blogs, no more points. we need em all. im not feelin the losin thing. wednesday, we need those tickets to go to six flags, or else im going to be a little unhappy, and i dont like being unhappy. getting those tickets would cap off a wonderful summer for me. its already been a great ride, but being on one at six flags would be icing on the cake, and the cherry on top. PRESENTATIONS, PRESENTATIONS

We just finished doing our presentations at Columbia University. It was my first time going to the University, so it was pretty nice. While walking through the hallways I felt like I were a college student. Anyway, enough about that....now the presentaion was so scary. I was so nervous to even through the double doors. My team weren't as prepared as we could of been but it turned out o.k. I actually enjoyed the presentations. I honestly thought the judges were going to uptight but they were very cool. I enjoyed the whole college setting. It gave me insight on what college life and setting would be...LOOK OUT COLLEGE LIFE , JAQUANA IS OONNN HER WAY!!!!!

breaking news for team shuffle we down because annomys got 25 points but we still gonna win watch after this blog i wrote and my college essay im going to work on when i get home tonight i will see my team shuffle alliance getiing love at the award ceromony and i just got word we on top im gonna celebrate tonight but we must win failure is not a option so if you wanna come win come to shuffle alliane also i took pictures of my team during our presentation which we came in second place but we still gonna win im happy like a kid get a happy meal;; at mcdonalds so other teams just cry a river like justin timberlake shuffle alliance is back on top and thats the bottom line because shuffle alliance said so.

It Gets tighter and Tighter

As we proceed, to give you what you need, the competition gets tighter and tighter as we head into the late stages of the race. Team shuffle has regressed a litle bit, but thats just because we have become a little dormant. we'll be a little more alive in a little. Love it a little more, love it a little more. We only down by about 25 points, and thats a nice little poem right there, so its all good. Especially since we're going to write stories, and try to produce more videos. We need as much as we can get right now. I just found out today that we lost another journalist, and thats never a good thing. I feel like im taking up the whole journaist part for my team. Thats all good and everything, but at the same time i feel a little lonely up here, I need someone to be able to say "im clibing the mountain with u my man." I don't know

got no choice but to look behind our backs, cuz these teams is comin for our ass wit a vengence. The benifit was cool and all that, everyone was nice to eachother. Karreem A.K.A. New Kevin Benoit did the damn thing, but that was only the beginning, the competition is still on until wednesday. now rich leavin the doors to hl open for the weekend, who knows what might happen? i just hope we come out on top. i took a wrong turn by hoppin on a a-train car that had no lights, tryin to be daring and all that, but that was really the wrong move. listening to the music in the dark on the train was bugged out tho. still, one of the other teams members coulda came out the darkness and poked me up lol. u never know. this thing is gettin volatile. we on the run now....

So far the summer has gone pretty good. But everthing always has to come to an end. Being in harlem LIVE gave me the opportunity to have a fun and enriching summer. Going back to school I have many stories to tell and many more to come because I plan on being a volunteer during the school year. I also want t o get a jodb in order to earn my own money to start saving up for senior year. Things are really coming to an end. I really wonder who will be here during the school year because I've made a few friends during the summer. HarlemLive summer challenge is almost over and there is so much to do before the Award Cermony. Right now Im feeling kinda tired. Yesterday HarlemLive had a benefit Dinner to raise money for the program. I came in a 10 AM and didn't leave until 11:30 PM. I came so early to help clean up HL and set up for the dinner. There was so much moving of things that my feet began to hurt. Do you believe after cleaning and seting up the whole day I had to wear heels to serve food. My feet were done by the end of the night. When I got home all I did was get in the bath and went straight to sleep.

my team shufle alliance is on top like a cherry on a sundae myself and others on mhy team went to pick up tables for the dinner from last night we were waiters and waitresses kareem hosted a benifit dinner to keep harlem live open my main man diamond was telling how he write the stories for shuffle aliance and kareem was our host for the event we was serving food such as salmon and chicken with salads.tanchelle and rebecca was helping us serve the guests i enjoyed myself after the event we all helped cleaned up the place.

Since i am VP of sales i have to attarct customers with enthustastic skills and great sales tactics. It went well i brought in many customers who were willing to purchase a little something something. I think we made a good enough profilt for mysake.

What astonished me is that richard actualy showed up to my Great Bazzar. I invited my people (shuffle alliance) to the bazzar but to see rich wow. He really does care. Also the benefit went well. The food was good and the service was persect. You know what Raynale Todman is a good waiter!!!

The benefit could have been better if the weather was better. When i arrived at the benefit it was pouring outside like crazy. I ran for the Harlemive entrance and barely made it. Soaking wet i was greeted by Rhonesha and was serviced by professional waiters (Ray!!!). The evening went well.

Suit and Tied Up Again

We in here at HL gettin ready for my son Kareem Benefit dinner party and all that. I'm feelin kinda funny because again, I'm the only one over here wit a suit on or whatever, and I just feel left out. got people callin me a pilot. I left my G4 in D.C. babyy and I wasn't flyin that. I'm just tryin to get myself ready for this thing, prepare to make my speech in front of who knows who. I'm tryin to keepy my confidence up for that. More than likely I will pass the test I'm administering to myself. Oh and I gotta clap it up for Team Joc because they took home the presentation. That really hurt us in the competition 'cause we was about to speed off on everybody. My son Catalino put it in with the video, funny as hell. showin us the spinners on the mountain bikes, I was feelin that, I was feelin that. Plus he had the Ghostface Robe on and u can't go wrong wit that. It's all good that we lost. We still got the lead like pencils babyy. The real challenge is next Tuesday. Holla At Me....

Today Was A Lesson Learned

I had an argument with one of my teammates and once again I embarrased myself inorder for people to hear what I have to say.Though I went through embarrasment I don't regret a thing I said and kinda wished Kamal would have never grabbed me because I had more to tell.One thing im concerned about is having the staff feel that they can't talk to me without blowing up.So I hope everyone can understand that they can come to me whenever they want and once I recieve respect, I will definitly give double in return.But when I feel that respect is not given to me there's no way i'll give it back.I learned from Chris F. that I should never hold in my anger because sooner or later i'll let it all out at once.I plan to learn from this day and hope that i'll never have to act like that.The people here are like my family and i've never felt the love I get from here anywhere else.Not even from my own flesh and blood.I spend all the time I have here.This is now my home and no one is going to take that away from me.Not even myself!

Today was not the day. It was fine the beginning of the day. Later after lunch is when the tired part began. I had to pass out 500 flyers on 42nd Street. It was so bad. People passing by not even thinking about taking one. I had a little fun. At least I got to meet people. Other than that, it was WORK. I went on 42nd & 7th AVe to 40th St.back to 42nd. The bad part was that I still took 37 minutes.

Gotta Pass Me The Mic One More Again

Wat It Do Babyy Wat It Do! I took a little break off the bloggin thing but that's only because I was a little busy or whatever. Just gettin used to the new york lifestyle once again. I lost it for a little minute in d.c. but my family gettin me back on track, and im back on track up here. this is raw and unedited so, i dont really care about the capitols or the apostrophe's we just goin raw right now so....im chillin u know, i came back to a lot of new things, new people comin thru to the set a harlemlive, and thats what it do cuz we need more people. especially those thats close to the site cuz im realizin that alot of the people thats here now, producin all of this great work as a unit aint even gonna be here durin the school year. some of us gotta put in all that good work for our teachers and improve our chances of gettin into a better situation in college and hopefully in life too. so whoever comin it gotta hold it down, at least until next summer....
as for the competition, its getting hotter and hotter the more we continue. when i first came back we were down in the competition to second place, and to me, second aint a place. that just mean u aint win babyy, and i wasnt feelin that. but now, and it wasn't cuz of me at all, we back into the lead, and thats only for a little bit of time. i can feel it. hopefully im wrong, but team anonymous is on our asses. they at least a goot 1000 points away. thats too close, we gotta increase that spread to a good 4000 or somethin. that too close for comfort. i also came back to find out that team joc had lost a good amount of their stories, and i was real sorry to hear about somethin like that. thats messed up. now they down in the cellar. but the race is still on, and i know that they still got some good pieces on that team so we can never count them out of the comp. good journalists, and video people, hmmmm, we cant let up babyy, if anything we gotta push harder. but for now i gotta sign out, get back to hardly workin, and maybe eat somethin. gotta continue my get fat diet babyy. but im out.....

I Came Today On Saturday

Today was boring and there was nothing to do.I was so bored that I came HL with Pajamas and A Hoodie.There was nothing much to do so I did some editing.Sunday I have to come back and do some videos so we can win the presentation and I have to prepare to turn in work for the week.This week went by fast so I have to pray that we have enough work to keep us in the lead.The presentation at Columbia is coming up so we have to win that becuz if we do then were definit;y gonna win.Im certain that that'll happen.

Hey everybody its ya girl Evelyn hittin up Shuffle Alliance my new team message board. Today im not feeling too good. I really don't know why but it seems like the day is going on and some how Im not in it, kinda like Im alone on my own planet. At Harlem Live its very quiet and very creepy. There's not toomany people here today in the team and in general. Today I wanted to do my P.O.S. ( a person on the street) on Beyonce's "Deja Vu" video. My P.O.S is on the video and people thoughts about the video. Some people think that the video doen't make any since and it has no story or theme to it. Me personally I love the song its a very good song but the video in my own words isn't really good. I think the clothing inthe video is over dramatic and the choragrapohy is very bad. I Knew It

I knew that we were gonna win.I was very confident this week and I know where gonna stay on top.Shuffle ALliance is always gonna be on number 1.Those other teams can't put us down because my team has nothing but hard workers.As long as we keep on with the hard work I know we can take it.Tomorrow I have a story with some actors and I also have something coming out with Charles Rangal whose a politician and I know my other team members have things up their sleeves so its nothing for Shuffle!

Good day .....its jaquana again. WHy is it so HOTT outside????? The heat is so unbelievable. But with the blazing heat life still goes on. I'm still scheduling and looking for hot news to write about. HArlem WEEk is here so that will make good stories. The community are a very important factor so that should be fun. Hey.....this is Jaquana from shuffle. I am really glad to be back and get started on my stories. The hardwork has started again and this time I'm happy. I missed Shuffle Alliance and HarlemLive all together. It was so boring without HL in my daily schedule. Eventhough I don't get Fridays off Im still glad to be here. I realized Harlem LIve had an impact on my life . Working at the Parks & Recreation Borough Office was the worst experience ever. Don't get me wrong the people were great but filing papers were not the move. It made me think abot what i could be doing at HL , like gettimg stories and meeting new people. But ...heyyyy.....its gooood to be backkkk

God damn, wat it do wit dat babyy. I was only gone for 9 days! I wasn't expectin all that to happen. My team lost the lead. Then I come back on the Wednesday, to find that we in last place, and that anonymous got 5000 points? Y that team is on steroids or somethin baby. Somethin is goin on. Im Confident

Today we had to include our work to add up the points for this week and I am very confident.Althought we had a shaky week last week I know we can bounce back up.Diamond and Leanna is coming back and their our strongest Journalist so this is gonna be easy for us.I have alot planned this week so I know i'll be busy and I am very confident that we'll win the next presentation.I learned alot next week and I have alot of material and confidence.Since i'm going to represent my team,I am 100% sure that were going to intimidate the other teams with out hard work and plus im great at intimidating people LOL.

Heat wave

I am going to say it for the last time, it is HOTT! outside. It is 100 degrees today. Did i tell you it was hot? O yea my bad Sorry. I almost did not make it to HarlemLIVE today. But i had to think about my team and not myself so i took the coolest way to HarlemLIVE and got here in about 8 minutes. I was only hot on about 2 blocks because they didnt have any shade or trees at all. They should make it a law to have some form of shade on every block once it hit 90 degrees. I'm serious. This is'nt a joke.
Then i had to go outside to pass out flyers. That was the funny part of my day. Well i had a couple of laughs. As i walked wit my friend we handed flyers to a couple of people but its was funny because i think they only took it to fan themselves. LOL Then on the way back to HarlemLIVE a boy was handing out flyers to a Talent Search so we told him that we'll trade. So we gave him ours and he gave us his. That was a pretty fair trade.
Overall, this day was iight besides the sorching heat. Well thats all i had to tell yall. I'll holla.
